Civic engagement is individual and collective actions designed to identify and address issues of public concern.
The role of every element of society as well as government policies is crucial in minimizing the occurrence of cases of gender-based violence, both in the personal sphere and in the public sphere. In this case, the involvement of citizens becomes very urgent.
The development of a country in the fields of economy, politics, social, culture, defence and security will not succeed if it is not supported by the participation of its citizens.
With the understanding that Gender-based violence is a human rights concern, civic participation in this regard will build civic awareness and sensitivity which in turn fosters civic engagement of citizens in the recognition of societal problems at the local, regional, national and global levels and respond to them through actions such as volunteerism, political activities, policy advocacy and community participation.
